Description: The drawing offered here is a caricature of an actor, possibly English or American. The work is signed "M. Arbuckle" and is entitled "William Courtney as "Cute the Detective"". I have been unable to find any information online about the artist. My dating of the piece is just a guess; it is possible that the drawing was made in the early 20th century. There was an American Broadway star and later film actor named William Courtenay (1875-1933). Could the artist have misspelled the subject's name? The measurements of the sheet are 9 7/8 inches height by 7 5/8 inches width. This drawing is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
