Description: Late 19th century impressionist landscape by Edward Heinrich Gohl (1862- ), listed New York artist, oil on canvas laid to board, 6" by 9 1/4", signed lower left with notation "Paris", contemporary gilt wood frame with painted liner, 12" by 15 1/4" outer dimensions.. Artist studied in Paris beginning 1891 at Academie Julian with Constant, Laurens, Bashet and Schommer, and was member of American Art Association of Paris. He also studied at Art Students League of New York and exhibited Art Institute of Chicago and Society of Independent Artists. Condition excellent for age, still retains pin holes at corners from mounting, laid to board at some point in its history, framing with very minor finish blemishes.
