Illinois National Guard Service Medal

Description: This is an Illinois National Guard Patch and service medal set. It is new old stock (NOS) and was never issued. The medal would have been awarded for "Long and Honorable Service" - "State of Illinois" (which is on the front of the medal). Apple River Fort is in the center of the medal. The reverse states, "Awarded To," and there is room for the Guardsman's name to be engraved below it. There is a laurel wreath at the bottom of the reverse. It has a crimped brooch. The planchet is approximately 1-7/16 inches in diameter. I also have these listed as a set including an Illinois National Guard patch. Check for availability in my eBay store.
