Description: For sale is a vinyl record by Ian & Sylvia titled "Four Strong Windse", originally released in 1963 on Vanguard Records, then reissued some time between 1965-67 as indicated by the labels This release has tan/bronze labels, indicative of a second pressing between 1965 and 1967 when these labels were used. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are matrix numbers 2SS/2SS, indicating that early stampers were used to make this record. This is a hallmark of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and immediately put it into an archival inner sleeve. This preserves the integrity of the insert(s) or the original inner sleeve(s) that may have come with the release. The inner sleeve is graded as Near Mint. The vinyl is visually graded as Very Good because of superficial sleeve marks and hairline surface scratches, but without any scuffs or smudges. There were spindle marks on the labels. I'm play grading this album between Very Good and Very Good Plus because of consistent low levels of surface noise and ticking, more evident during the quietest sections of playback and between tracks, but never over-powering the music or vocals . It plays all the way through without lock-ups, pops or skips from start to finish. The cover is graded as Good Plus because of ring wear, corner blunts, shelf rubs and a three inch seam split on the lower right hand corner. The spine has damage to the corners from these blunts with paper loss and there are stress cracks along the spine with color loss. It's been played only on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and the album still has a lot of life yet. This would be a great addition to anyone's collection. I have more Folk albums, as well as records of all genres listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in protective inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
