Description: Huge Maison Jansen Neo-Classical Regency Brass & Glass Cocktail Coffee Table What I have to offer for your viewing pleasure here is this beautiful original French Maison Jansen cocktail / coffee table! This is the largest Maison Jansen cocktail table I have had and also the most ornate one that I have ever seen. The long and very heavy rectangular glass top rests on a highly detailed base comprised of brass and what I believe is nickel, possibly aluminum since the tables dates from the 1940's. The brass posts at each corner have the most fabulous rich & dark patina to them. They are actually run through the glass and tightened down on it so there is no movement and no chance of the glass coming off, that is unusual and a sign of highest standards of craftsmanship. The posts lead down to nickel legs with fine slender Empire post style feet. It has a long nickel stretcher with a central brass joint leading back out to S curve stretchers with acorn style finials. This is a perfect fit for any Art Deco / Hollywood Regency setting as it is absolutely gorgeous! It is in superb overall condition for its age with no nicks, chips or cracks to the glass. With the glass the table measures 52" long by 24.25" wide by 16" tall to the top of the glass and 18.5" high to the tops of the posts. The glass is 3/4" thick. DO NOT DUPLICATE OR COPY!
