The usable surface area of the bowl, without the large cast edge, is approximately 8 inches in diameter. The underside of the bowl is stamped with sterling and the hallmark for Shreve, Crump & Low. We have seen an identical piece to this by Howard & Co. of New York, and we strongly believe this to be there work, as Shreve, Crump & Low would have only retailed the piece. The bowl is in excellent condition. The details on the engraving are crisp, and the cast edge is in great shape. There are no dents, no splits, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
