Huge 19.25" Platter A. J. Wilkinson "Landing of the Pilgrims" 1900s Hand Painted

Description: Outrageously wonderful huge oval meat platter by A. J. Wilkinson. This is a very rare pattern, "Landing of the Pilgrims". It depicts the new immigrants arriving in ships, gathering firewood for campfires, under observation by Native American. Truly an ideal serving piece for the Thanksgiving holiday. Hand-painted transferware (called "Clobbering"). The AJW Company operated 1885 – 1920. Trivia tidbit: Clarice Cliff started out as a modeler for this company from 1924 until 1927 (when Wilkinson acquired Newport Pottery). Royal Staffordshire ceramics, Burslem England. Does not have words “Made in” so dates 1890 – 1918. Dimensions: 19.25” x 15.25 x 1.5” Unpacked weight: 5 pounds, 4 oz. Condition: Excellent giftable condition. Only notable issue: scuffing on underside as seen in last photo.No visible crazing or discoloration. Transfer printing and over-painting is intact, with good color, no scratches or erosion. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. No observed restoration or repairs. Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping.
