Giger Book Condition: Very Good (Beautiful) Dimensions: 42cm x 29.5cm (16.5" x 11.6") This is the VERY RARE 'Dali Edition' (Dali signature is signed and printed on internal front cover) which was the first edition published in the U.K in 1978. The book is nearing 50-years old and is in fantastic condition. The spine is 100% intact and the pages still have their spring and bounce when turned (tried to capture this in the photos) front cover is superb with only the top right corner having a small crease. All internal pages are clean, crisp and perfectly aligned and neat. Basically I think this is about as good as you'll find nowadays on such a rare and sought after iconic book. The book has been in my possession for 20+ years, preserved by storing flat, boxed and wrapped in paper, out of sunlight in a warm and dry loft. The Swiss artist H. R. Giger [Hans Rudolf "Ruedi Giger"] was launched into fame in 1977 following the publication of two volumes of his incredible drawings and paintings which he titled Necronomicon. (The book was published by Big O Publishing) These editions are very large format soft cover books containing the some of the best of H R Giger's rather macabre but hugely imaginative 'biomechanoid' designs. These fantastic and innovative illustrations immediately drew Giger to the attention of the producers of the film 'Alien' (1979) and in particular its Director Ridley Scott. It is by Giger's work on this blockbusting film that he is most well known and his career spiralled. Not much more to add... if you are after a copy of H.R Giger's masterpiece which will only rise in value... Get a good one !!!
