Description: Hot Springs, ARKANSAS - St. John's Catholic Church - 1937: St. John Church organized in 1908. That is the same year that the Sisters of Mercy started St. John School. The cornerstone for the present church was placed on Oct. 10, 1910. Parishioners saw the completion of the church building on April 14, 1912. This interior view of the structure shows a mass being celebrated, pre-Vatican II style with the priest and the congregants facing the altar oriented to one of the building's walls. This Divided Back Era (1907-15) postcard, mailed in 1937, is in good condition, but there is some edge and corner wear. C.t Photochrom. No. A-38167. Published by F. C. Boving. Hot Springs.
