Description: A. GUIDE TO HOMEOPATHIC PRACTICE; *RareDesigned for the use of Families and private individuals Author:I. D. JOHNSON, M.D(Graduate of the Homeopathic Medical College of Pennsylvania , Member of the American Institute of Homeopathy, and author of "Johnson's Therapeutic Key."Year Printed:1881 ~ Entered, according to Act of Congress, in the year 1879, byBoericke & Tafel in the office of the Librarian of Congress, at WashingtonHomeopathic Pharmacists and PublishersNo missing pages at all Weight - #2 - 4 ounces ~ 8.75x6.25x2 inchesNO markings except for the front page owners' name and addresses.Absolutely NO mold or musty smell. This book also contains handwritten tests and notes on small sheets of - carefully enclosed by the clear protective, fitted cover over the book - which I personally bought and fitted over it to hold the book together after finding it in the bookcase I bought. Someone had used plain tape to try and hold the spine and covers which had separated from the book at some time. I'm not a professional book collector - but thought that the tape might do something detrimental to the original material, so I found a company that made covers called book-gloves and used one to hold the volume together and prevent further damage. The plain end-papers had deteriorated and separated from the book itself. None of the separated plain pages have text. The owner signed her name and list of addresses. The cover has done well and no further damage has occurred over the 50 years that I have owned and stored it in the same bookcase in which I found it when I purchased said bookcase (from the estate sale) containing a variety of books. Also contained in the cover-fold, an age-fragile pamphlet entitled THE UNPLEASANT END-RESULTS IN WELL PERFORMED TONSILLECTOMIES by Charles W. Richardson, M.D., Sc. D., ~ Reprinted from the Annals of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology, September, 1922. I put the various notes and a booklet inside of clear sheet-protectors as well. All of the handwritten notes will also be included Also in the folded covering, EXAMINATION IN PHYSIOLOGY 1893 First class All of the above will remain with the book when sold There is incomplete loosening of pages beginning on page 465 - 494There are 4 end-papers also incompletely separated thereafter Not being a book-specialist, this book belonged to a family member who was a doctor and also a notable person in our history - Theodore Sherman Palmer and was purchased by me, contained in a bookcase I bought at the estate sale in Washington D.C. in the 1960s.I handled it very little as I didn't want to damage the fragile, aged book. I have taken many photographs in order to list the book on e-bay that it may be found by a person or persons who will cherish the exceptional book. It is in relatively good condition for its' age - likely by being kept in the glass enclosed old oak bookcase. We are limited to 12 photos, but I will be glad to send more to a prospective buyer if wanted. Please examine photographs to see what you will get. In researching, I found a copy, printed 24 years later than this one, with this description-HardcoverUsed - Very Good.
