Description: Hollywood Recreation Bowling Lanes, billiards, cafe, & Bar. Hollywood, California Lion Feature Matchcover from c1940? Could be late 1930s. Used but in very nice shape. Has Lion Feature US patent 1,839,845 which Lion (Leo Greenbaum) applied for in 1931 and was granted in 1932. The unfolded, unused, matchcovers I have in several different auctions came from a kids collection made in the mid/late 1930s into the early 1940's She (I think) had an uncle who was a salesman for Universal and gave her 1 each of a bunch of killer 1930s covers.... There are some Lion Features that have never been folded too but most are Universals.
