Description: RARE HOFFRITZ MEDIUM SIZE BOWIE KNIFE - JAPAN Almost impossible to find the 1950s Hoffritz bowie in this excellent condition made in Japan. The stainless steel blade length is 4.75” and overall length is 9.25”. Blade thickness is 125”. Knife weighs 8.4 ounces. Handle is brass and wood with a polished brass & guard and dome pommel. The blade has a jimped thumb rise and a top swedge. The handle is wood accented with 2 polished brass rings. It comes with original black sheath with two (2) snaps to hold sheathed knife firmly in place. Condition is used. Condition Grade is NKCA Excellent. Hoffritz was a high-end New York City based retailer that was popular in the 1950's-1960's. They imported knives that were made by quality makers throughout the world. Many of their knives were made in the U.S., Germany, France Japan and Italy. Hoffritz (no longer in business) sold knives under their brand, made by the finest makers and they were always of outstanding quality.
