After that it spent time with the 4780th ADW, California ANG 196th FIS before being stored in 1971 at AMARC. In 1981 the aircraft was converted to a PQM-102B drone #841. Convair F-102A Delta Dagger The F-102 was first flown on October 24, 1953. This aircraft was the USAF's first delta-wing fighter, and was also the USAF's first operational supersonic interceptor. Its primary mission was to intercept Soviet bombers, though it was also used as a bomber escort and ground attack aircraft during the Vietnam War. F-102s served with the USAF until the mid to late 1960s, when many of them were transferred to the US Air National Guard.
