Both passenger / sleeping cars have detailed interiors featuring partitions, staterooms, seating, table lamps, corridors,closets, etc. The car interiors are fully lighted to give realism to these models. The intricate detailing and use of high-quality materials such as brass, plastic, and metal make this set a real showstopper. The cars are HO gauge and designed for use with AC power.The corporate road name is Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (CIWL). Please view photos and if you have any questions, please message us for further details.HISTORY Prototype: The Calais-Mediterranean Express was introduced in the winter time table 1886/1887 and was a luxury train of Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits. This train traveled from 1886 to 1939 from Calais or Paris to the French-Italian Riviera. Later, from 1922 after the introduction of the famous steel-blue sleeping cars, the train also got the surname "Le Train Bleu". Like all CIWL luxury trains at that time, the Calais-Mediterranean-Express consisted exclusively of sleeping, dining and luggage cars. In addition to the varnished teak finish,these cars had the striking 2-color paint scheme of cream and brown teak. There is a companion 3-car set to complete the 6-piece train consist with two luggage, three stateroom and one dining car.
