Description: This is a beautiful example of a Max Gray ERIE Railroad K-5a 4-6-2. Most of these are well worn or damaged by now. This is a robust model of a classic ERIE heavy pacific locomotive. It has excellent custom paint plus coal load, marker lenses, basic back head and a new can motor. This is a model of the latest K5-a configuration of the early 1950s with what I believe are modified boxpok drivers replacing the original spoked ones. It was built for Max Gray by KTM the premiere builder of the era. The model is heavy and robust. It shows no wear and the box is very much original in excellent condition. It runs very well on my short test track. The locomotive HL has been drilled with a #60 drill for a small LED HL. The HL has also been changed to the correct visored Pyle version. The tender has been drilled for sound and the tender light has also been drilled with a #60 drill for a small LED light. The original box with the original packing is in excellent condition. The locomotive and tender have been wrapped in a new plastic wrap before going into the original packing. The models also have extra packing for shipment. The original instruction sheet from Max Gray and the original sleeve for the box are also included.
