Description: This is an original 1896 stated second edition hardcover printing of "Helps to Make Ideals Real," written by A. R. Simpson and published by Oliphant Anderson & Ferrier. Original (non-reprint) copies of this book are rare, and it even doubles as a nice piece of Victorian decor, measuring 5" X 7.5". The copy being offered is intact and in good condition overall, although the presence of writing on the first page automatically makes the official condition "acceptable." As you can see in my first four photos, the covers have moderate wear, and the lower outer corner is dented. Inside, the pages are crisp, strongly bound, and mostly clean, with occasional light smudges and stains. There is also writing on the first page, dated December 18, 1896; this penmanship is so beautiful that it is more of an enhancement to the book than a "flaw," and you can see it in my 5th photo.
