Description: Heloise’s Housekeeping Hints by Heloise [Bowles Cruse] 1962 1st ed, no DJ, good. Hints From Heloise began as an advice column for homemakers in Honolulu, HI in 1959, and was syndicated by King Features in 1961. Bowles Cruse, who wrote under the mononym "Heloise," became popular for her useful every-day advice for homemakers. Her work communicated a light-hearted representation of the gender and labor norms of the time. "Heloise's Housekeeping Hints" was the first of many books published compiling the author's advice. This copy is in generally good condition. It is intact and complete. There is exterior wear including edge rubbing and bumped corners. Interior, there is some separation of the endpapers, but the binding is intact and tight. There is some spotting on the interior on random pages - suggesting, perhaps, that some previous owner had the book open on a surface while they employed its advices. Also, there is an ex libris plate on the outside front endpaper. Aside from these, the interior is clean and unmarked. All books are individually evaluated and photos are of the actual book.
