Our Huang Zi Xiang is made from leaf plucked from old tea trees and not from young, cultivated tea bushes. The quantity of old tea tree dan cong available each year is very limited because the number of old tea trees is small. Additionally, the number of old tea trees that comprise each 'fragrance' ( there are over 30 different identified 'fragrances') can be as little as one tree. The flavor of Huang Zi Xiang delivers a lovely challenge to the taste buds as it underscores the bouquet of floral notes. While not as sweet as either the Zhi Lan Xiang or the Yu Lan Xiang, this dan cong has a gentle sweetness and a rich body with an almost chewy texture. We detected a touch of woodsy-ness in the flavor that balanced the delicate sweet flavors of peony and iris perfectly. Usage: Suggest 8-10 Grams of tea with 150-200ml 100.C water to brew for 20 seconds for the first brewing, longer time for the following brewing,can brew over 6 times.
