Description: Helleborus argutifolius Pacific Frost is an evergreen perennial in the Ranunculaceae family. Its native range is Corsica to Sardinia. Common names are holly-leaved hellebore and Corsican hellebore. It grows to around 3-4 feet tall and 3 feet wide. It has variegated leathery leaves with spines on the margins. The light yellow-green bowl-shaped flowers come out in late winter and stay until early spring. It prefers to grow in full sun to part shade with little water needs. Zones 5-9 Germination Soak seeds overnight. Sow seeds on top of soil and cover. Keep moist in a bright spot. Do not cover and keep temperatures around 70-75F for six weeks. Move to 40F for four weeks, then to 50F for germination.
