This bundle of five (5) 4-inch by 6-inch prints features black and white Hellboy illustrations by Mike Mignola printed on an original 1955 Vandercook 219AB press on heavy 100lb cover stock. In artwork, chiaroscuro is the use of strong contrast in light and dark. Few artists have mastered the technique as skillfully as Mike Mignola, whose work is as effective in black and white as it is in color. Letterpress printing is one of the oldest forms of relief printing. Plates are created from the artwork and feature a raised surface, like a stamp.
