Six (6) Coffee/Tea Cups, plus a Cream, and a Sugar Server (chipped) with etched Heisey Orchid pattern. • Item’s Background - An attic-find. Parent's wedding gift. A family heirloom, on my wife's side. (Like so many family heirlooms, their actual history remains a shaded mystery when our elders pass away.) • Working Condition – Factory Perfect. Delicate looking but sturdy. • Cosmetic Condition – Factory Perfect. Clean. No flaws, chips, scratches, or cracks in Cream Server or Cups. DESCRIPTIONMaker – Heisey & Company, Newark Ohio. Originally founded in 1895 production began in April 1896 at the 301 Oakwood Ave, Newark premises. Heisey finally closed its doors there and its production in sixty-seven years ago in December, 1957. Diamond Hallmark - "In late 1900, the trademark was designed by George Duncan Heisey, and the famous “H within a diamond” was registered in late 1901. The registration papers noted that the mark had been in use since November, 1900. Heisey was proud of it and insisted that all of the glass be marked.
