Description: HEAVY BRASS TAIL PLATE OR LENTICLE FOR A LARGE DUTCH FRIESIAN TAIL CLOCK Heavy brass tail plate or lenticle for a large Dutch friesian tail clock. The lenticle is representing: Father time. At his feet there is an owl, and an hour glass next to him. Father time is pointing his finger as a warning to humanity that time is going on in a fast pace. The owl represents wisdom and the hourglass represents time marching on. The rooster is lifting the curtain of time representing the transitoriness of time. Behind the ornament the pendulum can be seen swinging. Approx 7 5/8” or 19,5 cm tall and 5” or 12,6 cm wide.
