Description: Great BIG book of the History of Hawaii. Published in observation of the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the Bishop Museum by Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, 1969. Publication of this book was made possible by a bequest under the will of Lani Booth, daughter of Victoria Ward. With so many photos and illustrations in it, I was blown away! This hardcover book was once a library book at Henry Opukahaia School. Everyone loves a good history book, and this is a great one! Loaded with information on the early history, the explorers, the monarchy, the territories and becoming the 50th state of the USA. Fascinating. Measures approx 10" x 13" x 2" and is in good condition with cover being slightly warped and worn, a tape wrap that states "996 F" (which is the Dewey decimal placement within the library), and slight aging of the first few pages. Published in 1969 it is 52 years old. A fantastic addition to any library. Rare. VINTAGE ITEMS: Found in Hawaii. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
