The first generation Fairlady Z (S30/S31) was born in the coupe style with the long nose & short deck at Nov 1969. This Z car was equipped with 2.4 L or 2.6 L straight 6 engine, produced under the brand of Datsun sports in the United States. In Japan, there are 2 type of engine L20 & S20.This first generation Fairlady Z got the enormous popularity and sold more than 550,000 in 9 years. And also had the great result in the motor-sports such as Safari rally 1971 and many of Japanese races.Z432 equipped with the 2.0 L straight-6 SOHC engine (called S20) which was equipped also Skyline GT-R.
