Description: This is a very good brass candlesticks made in France in the reign of Louis XV. We date it as circa 1720. Made in two parts, the shaft is peened to the base. Note also how nicely the brassmaker has finished the underside with concentric lines. There is an ejector hole in the socket, used for removing the spent stub of a candle. It is heavy and well finished, signs of quality workmanship. It weighs 1.06 pounds.. The candlestick measure 7⅜ inches high and 3⅞ inches across the base. We have not pollished it because different buyers have different ideas about this. It would definitely take a good polish and look very good. We are sorry but we do not accept bids from buyers with no feedback or negative feedback unless cleared with us beforehand. Returns are accepted if there is a substantial error in our description. If returned, item must be in the same condition as when shipped. Item will be shipped as soon as possible after payment is received. Thank you for looking at our item..
