Description: Stunning Antique (1930s) Leather Chaise Lounge Chair and Sofa This fantastic lounger is an antique and is a wonderful addition to any room. The arms come off and the chaise open up into what would have been used as a bed. It can be slept on, but it is narrow. The cushion is an oatmeal color and is in good condition, but could be replaced to make the chair even more dazzling. The leather is in good condition. There is a small tear on the bottom left of one of the sides. It could easily be stitched or turned to face the wall. It is not prominent. The leather is a lovely warm brown color and although it does show wear it is consistent with the look and feel of the piece and the fact that is an original antique. The piece is nearly 100 years old. This piece was bought from Lots Auction House in London 15 years ago for £1200. It has been well loved and cared for during those years. This is a unique and unusual piece being sold as we are moving overseas. You can see that the leather has been hand tooled and the chaise crafted with loving care by hand. There are springs in the couch as it is original and it is strong, but not meant for everyday use as a chair. We used it as a piece in our bedroom and laid our clothes on it.
