Mary shows her solidarity to the millions of homeless women in the world - those fleeing persecution and war - those suffering in the midst of hopeless poverty. The Holy Family were refugees when they fled into Egypt to escape Herod's murderous intent - and remained so for several years until Joseph learned it was safe for them to return to Israel. This image of Mary is especially beloved of those who help the poor. It is a way of seeing Jesus and Mary both in the faces of those who need our help the most.The chaplet has eleven 8 mm, faceted and fire-polished, genuine Czech glass beads. The Our Father is ruby red and the ten Hail Mary beads are aurora borealis crystal.
