Description: HAND MADE BOXWOOD OJIME BEAD The Ojime Bead was originally used on the Japanese Enro Box (which was a small pouch attached to the sash of the kimono). These beads are modern reproductions, hand carved from boxwood. They were created in China via a cottage industry. Unfortunately these beads are no longer made. While each bead is very consistent in design and form, there will be slight variations from bead to bead. The beads are highly collectible, and can also be used in jewelry making. Their approximate size is 1" to 1&1/2"They are signed. They are also great stocking stuffers - THINK CHRISTMAS!
