The original Stanley's were made from Brazilian rosewood which is cites 1 listed and prohibitively hard to get and extremely expensive. East Indian rosewood is, while still expensive, a close alternitive. It is just as hard and the color is a close match, in my opinion. I hand make these from solid wood.
