Ornament showcases Irma Starr's distinctive style of slipware pottery designs feature patterns and textures unique to her style. Starr's work is in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. This angel ornament has a gown made with glaze combing and slip trailing techniques to create a pattern in cream, olive green and red-brown. A gold cord is attached to her head so she can be hung as an ornament. Round paper tag identifies this ornament. This ornament is signed twice, "IRMA STARR" (impression in clay) and a hand written signature below it. Dated 12/04 on the round paper tag. Angel measures 5 1/2" x 4".
