Halloween Horror Nights 2004 was the 14th edition of the annual Halloween event held at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando. The event ran on select nights from October 1 to 31, 2004. Some of the haunted houses at Halloween Horror Nights 2004 included: Castle Vampyr: This haunted house was set in a medieval castle where vampires had taken over. Guests walked through dark corridors, past coffins, and encountered vampires lurking in the shadows. Horror Nights Nightmares: This was a "greatest hits" haunted house that featured scenes from previous Halloween Horror Nights events. Guests encountered characters from past events such as Jack the Clown and the Caretaker. Hellgate Prison: This haunted house was set in a maximum-security prison where inmates had taken over. Guests walked through cell blocks and encountered crazed prisoners and guards. In addition to the haunted houses, Halloween Horror Nights 2004 also featured scare zones where guests could encounter scareactors in themed areas. Some of the scare zones included: Nightmares on Parade: This scare zone was set on a parade route and featured floats with creepy characters such as clowns and skeletons. Field of Screams: This scare zone was set in a cornfield and featured scareactors dressed as scarecrows and other farm workers. The Harvest: This scare zone was set in a cemetery and featured ghosts and ghouls rising from the graves.
