The edges look good without any nicks or gouges and are all around nice. These knives will probably need to be sharpened before use if you want to get the best performance out of them. The carving knife without the forked tip measures about 10" from the top of the blade to the bottom of the blade, and a tad over 15" overall. The serrated knife with the forked tip measures just under 9 1/2" long from the tip of the blade to the bottom of the blade, and just a little under 15" overall.
