These comics are old and tanned, but can be handled with ease. Some dates might be more tanned than others. Dates are often written in the margin on the reverse side in pencil. Condition notes are predominately focused on the comic on the front side (comic featured for the auction). Top and bottom margins are sometimes narrow. The comic was often on the centerfold of the newspaper. Color register is sometimes off a little bit, but the printing really looks great with these comics. These comics often had small tiny pin-prick holes, often a few in a hole, which appear to have been caused by some sort of machinery. These are normally very tiny and not very noticeable and I often had to hold the comic up to the light to find them. Otherwise many of these would have probably never been noticed. Most of the individual date condition notes relate to this issue. Sometimes this also resulted in scratches and/or indentations. The comics still look good, but we wanted to make sure to document these issues (don't see this often). Many of these holes are almost too small to see, some others are slightly larger. It is possible we went a little overboard in trying to detect these holes (might have counted natural tiny holes in the pulp). See pictures for an example. However, it was difficult to take pictures of this issue and the pictures might not have come out perfect. We also made some notes of some date specific issues (we tried to avoid making too many notes, and instead preferred to go the generalized condition notes above). This should serve as a guide to the condition of the set, it is possible that we have not caught everything: INDIVIDUAL DATE CONDITION NOTES Date CONDITION 3-3 A few small interior tears along the centerfold line. 3-17 About 3 cm cut on top. Also a few small abrasions/scratch marks in top left corner. This includes at least one small tear (looks like something was scraped along comic). 3-24 About 4.8 cm cut on top. 5-5 No top margin along part of the comic. 7-7 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (barely noticeable). 7-14 Color register off slightly. 7-21 A couple of tiny pin-prick holes in comic (barely noticeable). 8-18 Small tear on the left side (mostly margin). Also one tiny pin-prick hole (had to hold it up to light to find). Color register also looks off slightly in areas. 9-1 A couple of small abrasion/scratch marks in top right side (did not break through and barely noticeable). 12-8 A few interior tears along the centerfold line (one about 3 cm). Also about 1.5 cm tear on left side near centerfold line. 12-15 Color register is off a bit, but it still looks pretty good.
