Description: This is an original ca. 1920s (from the estate of a man who had many children's books, all from the '20s) undated hardcover printing of "Grimm's Fairy Tales," published by M. A. Donohue & Co. Each tale features one page of text and one page with a beautifully illustrated color plate; neither the author(s) of the versions of the traditional tales in the book nor the illustrator(s) are listed. Overall, the copy being offered is in fair vintage condition. As you can see in my first five photos, the covers have noticeable wear, with rub marks, stains (most of them on the back cover, but also a noticeable brown stain near the top edge of the front cover), and a few nicks along the edges. Inside, the pages remain crisp and rather strongly bound, although the binding is very stiff where the covers attach to it, and, as you can easily see in my final photo, the top 5+ inches of the bound pages are separating from the covers and can potentially separate completely if the covers are not opened with care; this can be fixed with glue, but I did not want to alter the book. Most pages are generally clean, but all of them have ink transfer from the text or illustrations on the opposite pages, and several pages also have other light smudges and/or stains; examples of this are easily seen in my photos. Also, the name of the child who originally owned the book is written in pencil on the first page, as shown in my 6th photo.
