Description: Greenland 1945 American Issue. 10 ore value Die Proof in Issue Color 83 x 89 mm. Die sunk on card that measures 97 x 104 mm. Produced by the American Bank Note Company. Their archive item number 85455. and with further SPECIAL V-85464 imprint. As per archive records, the colors used were #5 Olive and #5 Purple.Prepared for the Danish Legation in New York in 1945. Greenland was running out of stamps and Germany still held control of Denmark at the time.This item was not known to exist until several 1990's auctions of the archives of ABNC. On a display page from a National and International award winning exhibit.
