Description: Vintage Japanese Celluloid Kobe Charm / Pin with Pop Out Eyes Totem Pole with Painted Detail!VERY few Kobe Charms have painted detail. Harder to find color...Green! Many years ago I found a good size group of these Totems and they all had pin findings on the reverse. The plastic findings appear to be original as they fit just right like they were made for these...But, yes, odd to find on a charm. c.1920's-30's. 1&5/8". I have collected these for decades...something about them ! :)When choosing a category for these, most are listed under "Advertising" or "Premiums", so I went with that.But does anyone have concrete information how they were truly originally sold / distributed?The gumball machine/candy premium theory just doesn't ring true for me. Some are quite delicate and some are much more intricate/higher quality than others. Message me if you can shed facts!
