FalireasVasilio tis Ellados = Greek Kingdom ,!!! GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC !!!============================================Greek Royal Family The personal standard of the Kings of Greece. The Greek Royal Family was a branch of the House of Glücksburg that reigned in Greece from 1863 to 1924 and again from 1935 to 1973. Its first monarch was George I. He and his successors styled themselves "Kings of the Hellenes". Most members of the dynasty (aside from the last king to reign, Constantine II and his queen consort, Anne-Marie of Denmark) hold the title Prince or Princess of Greece and Denmark with the style Royal Highness, except Marina, Consort of Prince Michael, Princess Alexandra and Princess Olga. The family came to the throne after the overthrow in 1862 of the first king of the independent Greek state, Otto of Bavaria. In a referendum, the Greeks elected Prince Alfred of the United Kingdom as their new king, but the candidature was rejected by the Great Powers, who refused to permit any member of their respective royal families to ascend to the Greek throne. A search for other candidates ensued, and eventually, the Greeks offered the throne to Prince William of the Danish Glücksburg dynasty, who had received six votes in the referendum. The Greek National Assembly proclaimed him king as George I, and he arrived in Greece in October 1863. The royal family saw Greece experience several upheavals including the Balkan Wars, World War I, World War II (during which Greece experienced Axis occupation), the Greek Civil War, and the Greek military junta of 1967–1974. Following the National Schism during World War I and subsequent Asia Minor Disaster, the monarchy was deposed in March 1924 and replaced by the Second Hellenic Republic, which lasted until overthrown by a royalist coup d'état in October 1935.All members of the former royal family are living abroad; Constantine II, his wife Anne-Marie, and their unmarried children currently live in London. As male-line descendants of King Christian IX of Denmark, members of the dynasty bear the title of Prince or Princess of Denmark and thus are traditionally referred to as Princes or Princesses of Greece and Denmark.Map of Greece ==============================================Double-headed EagleThe Double-headed Eagle is a common symbol in heraldry and vexillology. It is most commonly associated with the Byzantine Empire, the Holy Roman Empire and Russia. In Byzantine heraldry, the heads represent the dual sovereignty of the Emperor (secular and religious) and/or dominance of the Byzantine Emperors over both East and West. In the Holy Roman Empire's heraldry, it represented the Church and the State. Several Eastern European nations adopted it from the Byzantines and continue to use it as their national symbol to this day, the most prominent being Serbia and Russia.==============================================The wedding of King Constantine II & Queen Anne-Marie HM The King of the Hellenes and HRH Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark September 18, 1964The last wedding of a member of a reigning Greek royal family was that of (then) King Constantine II of the Hellenes and Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark. The couple, who are related several times over, wed in the Metropolis in Athens on September 18, 1964. Constantine had become king a few months before, following the death of his father, King Paul. Anne-Marie, who had turned eighteen only two weeks before, became the youngest queen in Europe.Only three years later, however, a military coup forced Constantine and Anne-Marie from the country. They fled to Rome, and eventually moved to live in exile in London. The Greek monarchy was formally ended by a referendum in 1973, in which the people of Greece voted to create a republic. ============================================ Condition: The coins my opinion characterized : XF See the scan (pictures), shape your own opinion. You will take that you see in photographs of sale.
