Grateful Dead Fans who Love & even Live-for ! that Good Ol' Grateful Dead sound ... and at it's Finest ! Offered here is the Completely-Legendary !! 18th Show from the Grateful Dead " Europe '72 " Tour ! . . . May 18th, 1972 ( 5/18/1972 ) at the " Kongressaal " in Munich, West Germany ! And as you might well expect - considering the Time & Era of Grateful Dead Music we are talking about here ... the Band continues to truly " Strike-Lightning ! " during the middle/final-leg of this Monumental Tour ! Seven ( 7 ) shows were played at the Academy of Music in New York City in Late-March ( 3/21-28/72 ), and if you have heard pieces, parts or all of that magnificent run - then you already know how " effective " that NYC run was as the ideal " Tour Warm-Up " for this Big-Time Europe '72 stretch that was right around the corner. Europe '72 kicked-off at the Wembley Empire Pool ( London ) on 4/7/72 & 4/8/72, as part of a two-night stand. And right after that, the band performed at the " City Hall " at Newcastle upon Tyne, England, then to Copenhagen, Aarhus ( Denmark ), " back " to Copenhagen, to Bremen ( Germany ), to Dusseldorf ( W. Germany ), to West Germany ( Frankfurt ) at the " Jahrhundert Halle " ( Hundred ( 100 ) Year Hall ! ), to Hamburg, to Paris, to the Bickershaw Festival ( Wigan, England ), to Amsterdam, to Rotterdam, to France, to Luxembourg ... back to West Germany again ... right here in Munich, West Germany on 5/18/72 at the " Kongressaal " !!! -- with all of the music from this Amazing ! & Mesmerizing !! Grateful Dead performance contained here in this 3-CD Set ! From here, there was one more final stop - back again to London for a final 4-night stand at the Lyceum ! Europe '72 !!! Well Fans, we all have our personal favorite - when it comes to " Moments of Magic ! " ... Grateful Dead " Live " Magic ! that is, naturally ... and for me - as far as " Europe '72 " goes, this Show is indeed one of mine - without any-question. The energy, tone, precision, and consistent execution by the Band on this very-fine night is just simply breathtaking. There are many more common / popular nights / Shows from this tour, but to me & my ears ... there is something " special " Brew-ing ( Ha ! ) in the air on this night that is nearly unmatched. And without any Furthur adieu ... Disc 3 >>> Dark Star ! > Dew ! > Drums > Sugar Magnolia > Sing Me Back Home ! > One More Saturday Night. Just to cut to the chase here, this is fabulous - at least to my humble Dead Fan ears. I'm going to let the Music ! do the talking on this set for certain, so it can do it all on it's own for you ... but Wow, just wow ... So yes, you can indeed get excited for this chuck of pristine G.D.. Disc 1 = a beautiful Sugaree, spirited B.T. Wind, and groovy ( and then some ! ) China > Rider !! Disc 2 ... ? Well, the Good Lovin' and or Playing In The Band might take the cake ? But to me ? It's Sitting On Top Of The World - all the way !!!!! I just love this Show ( if you can't tell already ) ... but hey, I loved it way before it was released - thought I couldn't love it anymore ! But I was wrong ... the re-mastering is pristine ( near-perfection ! ) -- and just look at the Artwork chosen ( so-appropriately ! ) for the from cover !?! A Tie-Dyed " Running " Tie Dye ! Beer Mug Stein ??! Probably my favorite Cover ! too!! Tough call, as there are so many fine ones to choose from. But yep, I think this one is it for me. I mean check it out, as that Running Stein ! of Grateful Ale !! even has a Head on it !!! A Dead-Head ... in Tie-Dye !! Ha ! So-Tasty indeed ... 5/18/72 Munich !!! Enjoy !!!!!
