Wow ... and this is one where the Boys brought-it ! - giving all of their collective '95 might, for certain. So, if you didn't catch this one yourself ( and, you just think that this Pooch is really-cute ! ... Ha !! ) - well, let me tell you - this Show was Nice !! Let's put it this way - because this is indeed one of those nights where the tale of the tape does ! tell a nice part of this story ... Yeah !! 1st Set Opener = Help > Slip ! > Franklin's !! -- 2nd Set Opener = Scarlet > Fire !!! -- 1st Set Closer = Let It Grow ! -- and 2nd Set Closer = Lovelight !! ... straight out of Visions of Johanna !!!!! Yep, this was the Cali Show that one needed ! to catch - to say that you caught Garcia deliver ' Visions ' freshly ( real-freshly ! ) out of it's Glorious ! " Return " !!! The Band played it at the Delta Center in Salt Lake on 2/21/95 - for the 1st Time since 1986 !!! And, obviously - that went so-well, that Garcia & Co. were obviously chompin at the bit - to play it again ! ... the very-next Show on 2/24/95 - right here in Oaktown !!! Dang ... as just typing this makes this guy ' miss ' the Good Ol' Coliseum !!! Dang, I mean here close to 25-Years later ... I even miss the Oakland Lot !!?! Hah ! Classic ... This whole 3-night Oakland stand was really hot, as a whole - as the 2/24/95 & 2/25/95 Shows led up Nicely ! to a Cookin' ! " Mardi Gras " Celebration, which - of course ... would indeed be the ' Last & Final ' by the Band. For what it's worth ... I always thought that both the Mardi Gras ! & Chinese New Year ! runs in the Bay Area - were always ! The-Best !! Tons & tons of fun for all - yet, still a little more on the low-key side of things ... Holiday-wise - and too, of course ... it's Cali ! As I always like to joke that I never ! saw a Grateful Dead Show in California that I didn't-like ! But hey, I'm pretty easy to please ... Ha ! Though Night # 2 ( 2/25 ) brought the Other One & the New Speedway Boogie ! - and, Night # 3 ( 2/26 ) brought the Iko ! in " Mardi Gras !!! " style & fashion ... I still pretty much think that this 2/24/95 Show was pound-for-pound the Hottest ! of this run. So, I guess the moral of the story is ... sometimes when the Boys are warming up on a run ... and getting things ' dialed ' -- sometimes that can Beautifully ! lead to Dead-Sync !!! Plus, when you through a ' Visions ' in there for the Bay Area Fan Faithful ?!! - wow, forget about it ... Rock & Roll !! the way I like it ! Awesome ... Enjoy !!!!!!!
