Description: 1930s linen postcard shows the grand stairway at the Aragon, "The Wonder Ballroom" at 1100 Lawrence Avenue in uptown Chicago, Illinois. Built by brothers Andrew and William Karzas, the dance hall opened in 1926. Movie palace designer John Eberson decorated the interior to look like the courtyard of a Moorish castle. Postmarked 1935; excellent condition. Dance hall, entertainment.
