In the 22 years selling on eBay this is the first on I was able to acquire. The chocolate brown mahogany case has very few character marks and the only flaw that is hardly noticed is the back door knob has a chip in it that can be clearly seen in the picture. The shellac finish has been properly cleaned and not altered. It is original, and has a nice crazing to it. A two-tone design below the dial along with a brass finial on top gives this clock a nice balance or aesthetic that is appealing to the eye. This style and/or model was never duplicated or changed to look like another Seth Thomas model by adding different features so it’s a one of a kind clock. The original 6 inch silvered dial is in great condition besides some silver wear at the 1 and 2 that is hardly noticeable. The raised bronze Arabic numbers and the bronze serpentine hour and minute hands give this clock a classy look allowing the numbers to be read easily from a distance. The convex beveled glass has no chips or scratches in it. The machined clasp brass bezel has been cleaned without harsh chemicals so as not to ruin the antique brass finish. Both the front and the back doors open and close properly as they should. This clock comes with its original bob, original 2-sided key and a original model label on the bottom of the clock. This clock features a half-hour strike rebuilt 8-day movement No. 120 with new springs that strikes once on the half-hour and actual number of strikes on the top of each hour on a spiral bell metal gong. The robust chime on its bell metal gong counting the hours and half-hour on this clock demands your attention. Just a beautiful tone that is pleasing to the ear. Ø Disassemble the entire clock and movement myself completely. Ø Install Seth Thomas parts ONLY on the movement as needed. Ø Bush (never staked) all worn pivot holes with Bergeon bronze bushings as needed and polish all pivots. Ø Clean the entire movement and mainsprings ultrasonically. Ø Clean the original dial being careful not to alter its original condition. This dial is original and has not been altered. Ø Clean the bezel, parts and gong by hand. Ø Clean the inside of the clock as well as the outside by hand with mild cleaners being careful not to alter the original finish and apply a coat of wax by hand. Ø Reassemble the clock, oil and lube in the proper places. Ø Adjust chime and strike hammer sequence properly to assure smooth and even strikes at each hour and half-hour. Ø Electronically regulate the beat and adjust the speed while the clock is level to ensure accuracy for many generations. Ø Inspect and adjust every minor detail of the clock assuring full function and peak performance for many years to come.
