Description: GORGEOUS antique Art Deco ORNATE sterling silver carnelian and marcasite ring, size 5 1/2, sizable. This ring is 1 1/4” long by 3/4” wide and weighs 5.6 grams. It features a wonderful 23 mm long by 15 mm wide, uniquely cut carnelian cabochon prong set in a beautifully ornate sterling silver and marcasite setting. This setting is uniquely Art Deco with texture, sparkle, geometric shapes and age appropriate oxidation. This ring is in remarkable condition with no damage. The under-gallery is very pretty with in-set designs. The setting surrounding the stone has a total of twelve faceted, sparkling marcasites set around the top and bottom with additional marcasites set on each shoulder. The stone has one VERY tiny nick on one beveled edge that I only mention to be thorough. It not only doesn’t detract…..it can barely be seen. Aside from this, the ring looks almost new, despite its age. It comes from the estate of a woman who passed away over ten years ago in her early 100’s. All of the jewelry from her estate was exceptional.
