Description: For sale is an A. Michelsen Denmark sterling Christmas spoon from 1942. The spoon is 6 ¼ inches long and weighs 45 grams. The spoon has gold-washed bowl and partially gilded handle with white enamel faces of the Madonna and Child. The spoon is marked “Julen / 1942” on the back of the handle. It is marked [A.MICHELSEN/COPENHAGEN], [STERLING/DENMARK] and ® on the back of the bowl. The spoon has never been engraved. Condition on the spoon is fairly good. The gold wash on the handle is worn, and there is some surface mottling from heavy tarnish. Still a fine wartime spoon!
