Description: THE SCENE - Established in 1920, The Kelowna Golf and Country Club in Kelowna, British Cloumbia, Canada epitomizes golf in the classic tradition. The Club has evolved beautifully through the eighty plus years since it's inception. The most visible change being a major clubhouse renovation and new holes being added on the north end of the property. The greens are a work of art with each hole having it's own distinctive character. Every tee shot provides a scenic view to remember. The course has become renowned for it's undulating terrain with immaculate grooming and conditioning. Fairways are lined with no fewer then 30 different species of horticulture as well as a prevalent presence of flora and fauna. Two outstanding features of the course are "Eagle Pond" which is bordered by river rock and the scenic backdrop of the Dilworth Mountain cliffs. Water comes into play on the five holes that surround Eagle Pond with holes 12 through 15 being referred to as "Amen Corner" by some golfers. The Kelowna Golf and Country Club experience is sure to be remembered for a lifetime. THE PRINT - "Kelowna Golf and Country Club, 15th Hole" has been reproduced from an original watercolor painting by British Columbia Artist Mal Gagnon in 2004 as part of the professional Okanagan Golf Club series. THE ARTIST - Mal Gagnon was born in Vanguard, Saskatchewan and received his formal art training at The Alberta College of Art in Calgary, Alberta. His major was in Advertising Art and later switching to Fine Art. In 1988 he moved to the beautiful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. His popular detailed painting style has led to multiple private and corporate commissions among which include mining companies, financial institutions, insurance companies, golf clubs, wineries and real estate. His passion for the Okanagan Valley is evident in his many watercolor and acrylic paintings that depict the beautiful landscape of the region.
