The vintage 1980s earrings and bracelet are in good condition with normal wear. We use a Presidium Gem Tested when applicable and/or a diamond beam. Many stones are not listed on the tester such as apatite, bixbite, etc., so we GUESS. The only way to certify a stone to be natural is to send it to the GIA in New York. Commercial presidium gem testers can't differentiate between lab created and natural stones. I'm a jewelry collector too! We measure the gemstones as best we can. If we can't get an exact measurement due to the setting, we measure including the bezel. When we show the acid test, the scratch glows blue for sterling silver and disappears with plated metals. Some items will have acid marks or scratches from testing.
