Description: This is a 4 1/4" plastic figure of the ancient Egyptian goddess Bastet. One of the most popular deities of Ancient Egypt, she is the goddess of cats ,childbirth, fertility, and protector of the home against evil. Both men and women venerated Bastet very highly. She is depicted as a cat or a woman with a cat's head. She holds a musical instrument known as a sistrum. The figure that I have pictured is from my own collection, so I do not open the package containing the figure I am selling you. Both figures are very similar. What you will receive is the figure in the black package as pictured. There seems to be more value in the figures that are still enclosed in the black package.These figures were manufactured in the United Kingdom.
