Description: I will be selling pieces from my personal collection of American Brilliant Cut glass, so please add me to your favorite seller list for future rare pieces. .........................................................This is a Rare & highly collected Creamer & sugar bowl set from the Chicago Worlds Fair expo in 1893.It is thin pink & white peachblow art glass with a ribbed texture on the outside. The creamer is enameled with Worlds Fair 1893 to commemorate the event and they often did not enamel the sugar bowl I noticed. Some were sold as souvenirs without even being enameled and so those are found plain.New England was bought by Libbey at this time in the 1890's so its not sure exactly which company blew the blanks so collectors refer to both companies during this transition period. You can read about this set in a book called "Peachblow Glass" by the Billings. Even though collectors call this Peachblow, Libbey called it "Wild Rose" in some advertising as a way to distinguish their pieces from others most likely. The company sold this pink/white peachblow set and also a blue color set during the fair. This pink set could also be consider almost burmese by some collectors because I noticed the sugar bowl has uranium in it when hit with the UV light. The creamer did not react as strongly to UV but I could see someone displaying them in a UV cabinet collection.Measure: these are 2-3/4" tall by 4" wide. and 2-1/2" tall by 4-1/2" wide.It is from the American brilliant period, (late 1800's to 1915) which is over 100 years old now! Condition: This is from 1893. handles are all attached and the enamel on the creamer is pretty good- however the sugar bowl has a hairline crack that starts on the bottom and runs up the side next to a handle. It does not seem to be at risk of cracking more and the other side is solid- so if taken care of it will last for years to come- the crack runs from the bottom up by the handle so when face forward it is well hidden when displayed. I will show pics from inside and out.FYI: There is an undecorated set on this site asking much more, I have seen the creamer alone sell for more than my starting bid. Please bid accordingly for the creamer only knowing the sugar has the hairline crack. I am considering the sugar bowl free in this auction and the final price will only reflect the Creamer. Thank you..........................................................No Returns! : Sorry but due to cost of shipping & insurance for this heavy glass, I have a No returns policy! I do not charge you extra for shipping the first time- I pay it out of pocket, and its expensive. I package very well at my own cost, I cannot get that shipping back and also give you free shipping back here as well because you decided it wasn't what you needed anymore. Please bid responsibly, thank youDamaged in Transit/Shipping: I will be shipping you expensive, fragile, antique glass. Therefore it will be treated as such. I wrap with lots of bubble and padding, use double boxing, mark fragile clearly all over the box, always pay to fully insure your item as well (so please read about Insurance claims next). Items over 250- value will also have signature delivery, if you are worried about the postman leaving your items please message me. Insurance claim (loss or damage): Please do not open a dispute with ebay without contacting me first because it is not necessary. I will make an insurance claim and you will be taken care of. I pack to survive, but if they break it I will need pictures to file the claim online. However, shippers do not just honor claims online anymore with the photo's only- now they tend to ask for an inspection of the item. USPS will send a letter within a week asking for the item to be brought in for inspection, while other companies may come to the residence for the inspection by appointment. I have to get the claim approved and the item inspected BEFORE I can refund now because they always require inspections and we have to comply with them. So first, pictures. Second, inspection with shipper. Third, shipper approval and refund sent to you.
