GI Joe 1986 Cobra Terror Drome Turret Platform Base Reproduction Set

Description: Up for offer is a pair of reproduction turret bases for the 1986 Cobra Terror Drome. The originals are very brittle and break easily. Finding a complete unbroken set is expensive. These versions are great for play and display while storing the originals away. Each turret base is 3d printed and made of 3 pieces. The base and mounting ring are printed solid in black filament, while the sensor array is printed in a deep red filament that matches the color of the original cannons. The senor array piece is bonded to the base unit. The mounting ring has 4 tabs and uses friction fit arms to securely hold the base unit from the sides. The turret base has two top mounting tabs to secure to the Drome body and a hole on top for the cannon unit. One picture shows me holding an inverted turret base by the unbonded ring with the cannon mounted and the unit does not fall apart, but they can be bonded/glued if desired. The last picture shows a mounted and non-bonded turret base supporting over 5lbs of metal. These were designed for an easy and secure assembly and disassembly without fear of breaking your Terror Drome frame. These reproductions are made with thick walls for durability and weigh 1.5 ounces more than the thin originals. They have similar details and fit nicely to the Terror Drome contours. There will be visible layer lines and slight surface irregularities due to the printing process. These can be surface finished and painted as desired. The originals shown are not included.
