Description: Here's a rare find. You'll have fun with this pre-owned Getzen Super Duty Custom Model tenor trombone with an 7 1/4-inch bell. The serial number is 113xxx which puts the date of manufacture around 1959. On the nickel silver band around the bell, it reads, "Custom Model Getzen Super Duty Elkhorn, Wis." Well made, it has; free moving tuning slide, slick slide, no big dents, 7 1/4" bell, 90% of it's finish, Blessing 12C mouthpiece and a Yamaha case. The inner slide has just a hint of spotting wear on the end. (see pic) It has the wear of a 65 year old instruments with scratches and a tiny ding here and there but all-in-all looks good and would detail nicely. Me? I'm not a store/repairman. Buy accordingly. Looking for instruments and getting them into the hands of players is a hobby of mine. Finding treasures like this are what makes it fun. I'm not a trombone player but can get a nice sound out of it and, as is, would be good enough for me. That said, since whoever buys this will be an advanced player/collector, I'm sure you'll want to have your tech give it a complete going over/the works to get in tip-top condition...and am selling as such.
