Description: One of the scarcest of all Gettysburg badges is this Gettysburg Pennsylvania Reserve Day Badge from 1890. Pennsylvania Reserve Day was a one day event on September 2, 1890 at Gettysburg. War time Governor Curtin of Pennsylvania would reside over the ceremonies. Governor Beaver would present the Pennsylvania Monuments to the battlefield Association that day. These badges were produced and presented to veterans of the Battle of Gettysburg who attended. Very few of these badges survived and this is the only one we have encountered in many years of collecting. The pin and badge are in excellent condition while the original ribbon has frayed and has separated from the medal. There are numerous Gettysburg badges from the reunions and monument dedications but this one is the one you never ever encounter. We believe very few still exist. This will come in the pictured riker case for display and will ship free by Priority Mail within the Continental US.
